For law and accounting firms
New client calls do not leave voicemails. They call the next firm.
Someone who has just been fired, served papers or rear-ended calls three firms in ten minutes. The one that answers, takes the details properly and books a consultation gets the matter. The other two get nothing and never know.
from $1,000 to build. Telephony and compute at cost, on your own accounts.

The calls you are losing
These are the ones that do not call back
- The Sunday evening call from someone with a deadline they have not noticed yet
- The referral who calls once, gets voicemail, and is never heard from again
- The tax season flood of status calls that buries every new client inquiry
A missed call at a firm is not a lost sale worth eighty dollars. It is a matter worth thousands walking to the firm down the road.
When reception is busy, attorneys answer the phone. Time that bills at hundreds an hour goes on taking a message.
Intake scribbled on a notepad arrives incomplete, so the first consultation is spent collecting what intake should have captured.
What it handles
Scripted for law and accounting firms
- Structured intake per practice area: what happened, when, who else is involved, what deadline is running, so the file starts full
- Asks your conflict questions before anything else and stops the call short of anything that creates a problem
- Books consultations into the right attorney's calendar with the matter type and the intake summary already attached
- Screens out the work you do not take, politely and consistently, instead of an attorney finding out fifteen minutes in
- Handles the routine chase calls: has it been filed, what is my deadline, what do you still need from me
Where it stops
It never gives legal or tax advice, never comments on the merits of a matter, and never says whether you will take the case. It collects and it books. Everything else is a handover to a named person, and every call is transcribed so you can read exactly what was said.
A call, start to finish
What the caller hears, and what you get afterwards
Sunday, 9:26pm. A wrongful termination inquiry.
- AgentGood evening, Harker and Wills. I am the firm's automated assistant and I can put you through to a person whenever you want. Can I take a few details?
- CallerI was let go on Friday and I think it was because I reported something.
- AgentUnderstood. I am not able to advise on your situation, but I can get the details to an attorney. When did you report it, and was that in writing?
- CallerAbout three weeks ago, by email to HR.
- AgentThat is useful, thank you. Has anyone else at the company been involved, so we can check for conflicts before someone calls you back?
- CallerJust my manager and HR.
- AgentThank you. I have a consultation Tuesday at 9:30 with our employment attorney. Shall I hold it for you?
What the business gets
Intake captured while the client still remembered the dates, conflict questions asked and recorded, consultation on the calendar with the summary attached. The firm that answered on a Sunday is the firm that has the matter.
Sample script on a fictional business. Yours is written around your own calls.
Self-hosted
Privileged calls that stay privileged
Every hosted answering service asks you to route confidential client calls through their infrastructure, where their staff and their subprocessors can reach the recording. That is an uncomfortable conversation with a managing partner and a worse one with a client who asks where their call went.
Self-hosted removes the question rather than answering it. The agent runs on your infrastructure. The recording, the transcript and the intake notes are on your systems from the first second, and no outside party holds a copy.
- No third-party processor sitting in the chain
- Conflict check answers never leave your systems
- Retention and deletion set by you, per matter type
- Recording can be turned off entirely for the matter types where you would rather it was
- The consent announcement is configurable per jurisdiction
Recording rules differ by state and privilege is your call and not ours. We build the consent line and the retention rules to whatever your bar and your risk policy require, and we write down where every byte sits before anything goes live.
See self-hosted and hosted compared row by row, including the two places hosted wins.
What it plugs into
It writes into the system you already run
Case management
Clio, MyCase, Smokeball, PracticePanther
Accounting practice
Karbon, TaxDome, Canopy
Calendars
Microsoft 365, Google Workspace
Where a system has a usable API we connect to it. Where it does not, we tell you that before you commit rather than after. How we build them.
Outbound, once inbound is settled
The calls nobody gets around to making
- Chasing onboarding documents before a filing deadline
- Retainer and invoice reminders
- Dormant matter and past client follow-up
Outbound calling is regulated in most places. We build the consent rules and the calling windows to your jurisdiction before it dials anyone.

Questions from law and accounting firms
Can it run a conflict check?
It asks the questions you would ask and records the answers against the inquiry, so nothing is missed at first contact. The check itself stays with your team. It will not clear a conflict and it will not tell a caller that you are taking the case.
Could it give legal advice by accident?
It is scoped so that it cannot. It has your intake script and your answers to routine questions and nothing else. Anything outside that is a handover rather than a guess, and the transcript of every call is on your system to check.
We are an accounting firm, not a law firm. Does this work the same way?
Same shape, different calls. Yours are 'have you filed my return', 'what do you still need', 'how much do I owe', plus a season that is almost entirely document chasing and therefore almost entirely outbound. We build the intake and the chase list around your calendar instead of around a legal matter.
What does self-hosted mean in practice?
The agent runs on infrastructure you control, which for most businesses is a cloud account in your own name rather than a server in your building. The call audio, the transcripts and the customer details sit on your systems rather than on a platform vendor's, so you can audit where everything is and delete it yourself.
What does it cost?
from $1,000 to build and deploy. That is the build: scripting, integration, deployment and testing on your infrastructure. After that you pay your telephony and compute providers directly on your own accounts, so there is no per-minute margin sitting between you and your own phone line. We show you what a month costs at your call volume before you commit.
Will it replace our receptionist?
That is not usually what happens or what we would suggest. It runs as overflow, taking the calls that would otherwise ring out: after hours, during the rush, and when everyone is already on the phone. The people who answer today keep answering, with fewer interruptions and a shorter callback list.
Not quite your line of work?
The build is the same. The scripts and the rules about what it must never say are not.

Stop losing the call to whoever answers first
It runs beside your existing phone system first, so nothing changes for the callers you already reach. You switch more of the line over when the transcripts convince you.
