Charitag approached Lipsum Technologies with a bold vision—to create a next-generation eCommerce platform that enables users to shop with purpose. Every product sold would contribute a portion to various verified charities, merging commerce with compassion.

Our team was tasked with building a high-performance full-stack platform that would not only deliver a seamless shopping experience but also integrate secure payment, charity routing, and donor transparency tools.

Challenges We Faced:

1. Security-First Architecture
   With user donations and payments being a central function, the platform demanded robust authentication and authorization layers. We implemented JWT-based login flows, encrypted endpoints, and OWASP-guided security patterns.
2. Flexible Charity Management
   Every item needed to map to one or more charities dynamically. We designed a flexible microservice system to manage donations, percentages, receipts, and impact reporting without affecting core operations.
3. Global Scalability
   The platform had to support charities and donors across continents. By Dockerizing the application and hosting via AWS EC2, Lambda, and RDS, we ensured uptime, reliability, and smooth scaling.
4. Developer Onboarding
   With teams across different time zones, we standardized local development using Docker environments and CI/CD pipelines to ensure zero-friction contributions.
